Snow Days - 7 Years Later!

Snow Days - 7 Years Later!

The snow started falling at 4am and I jumped up to film it!  Snow days are extremely rare in South Louisiana and I couldn’t wait for the boys to get up to see it!

The last time it snowed was seven years ago and when it snows over here you have to take full advantage before it leaves, you have to have a snow ball fight and make a snow man!  I remember teaching the kids how to make a snow ball and build a snowman seven years ago!  I didn’t think much of it but that’s just what you do when you see snow!

The kids woke up around 8am knowing there was a chance of snow in the morning and that’s exactly what happened!  I was dressed knowing they would want to go outside…  It took maybe 5 minutes and they were completely dressed and out the door!  They immediately started making snow balls and throwing them at each other!  They remembered how to make good snowballs from seven years ago!  It was pretty cool.  Noah was teaching Jude but he picked it up quick.  We had our go kart and skim boards ready to go and started running up and down the drive way Snow Skimming!  Not sure if that’s a thing but we were doing it!  We spent all day outside because we know it will be gone before we know it…

The snow was really coming down, we got 8” of snow throughout the day and that was the best snow we ever saw hit Louisiana.  We actually took some of the snow and made snow balls with Raspberry Syrup and condensed milk.  They were the best snow balls we ever had in our lives!  WOW!  The entire day felt like Christmas morning!

Day 2 the kids woke up and it was so cold overnight the snow was still there!  That’s never happened where we live!  We grabbed the 4 wheeler and kayak and took turns pulling each other through the snow!  We will remember these last 2 days the rest of our lives!  It’s all about making memories that will last!

There was one more thing we needed to do and that was build a snowman!  Luke, Noah, and Jude started rolling the snow up and it was forming perfect!  We grabbed some coal and fruit to make the buttons , nose and smile; and then we topped it off with a Borillasnaps hat!

Leave us a comment on what you do on snow day!
