Here is what you need! Visit your local hardware store and buy a Heavy Plastic Sheet the size of your space (ours is 100x16) with a 6 MIL thickness. The next thing you need is pool noodles from the Dollar Store, some Duck Tape and you're all set!
Once you get home with all 3 items, you need to find a level area, or space that catches water evenly. If you set the Plastic Sheet in a space that doesn’t catch water evenly the water will not fill properly. Now you’ve found your spot, unroll the plastic tarp with your noodles spaced around the tarp. Put the noodles in a straight line and make a rectangle. The noodle should go underneath the tarp and wrap the plastic around the noodle and tape it with the duck tape…
Once you have your rectangle, we added 2 water hoses to the track and let the water fill up completely to create enough water to allow the skimboard to slide across without friction. This year we took it to another level, and we hooked our go kart up with a ski rope and pulled each other all day long!
If you have younger kids that don’t skimboard, you can add tubes to the track and pull them across using a rope while you run or a vehicle without issue. It’s so much fun for all ages!
